How to Book a Ride
Booking a van, truck, or cargo vehicle with Rovor is simple and straightforward. This guide will walk you through the entire process from downloading the app to completing your first ride.
Getting Started
- Download the Rovor app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Create an account using your email address or phone number. You'll need to verify your contact information and set up a password.
- Add a payment method to your account. We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay/Google Pay.
Booking a Ride
- Open the Rovor app and ensure you're on the "Book" screen.
- Enter your pickup location and destination. You can type the address, drop a pin on the map, or select from your saved locations.
- Select your vehicle type. Choose from:
- Cargo Van: Ideal for smaller moves, furniture deliveries (up to 4.3m cargo space)
- Box Truck: Perfect for apartment moves, larger items (up to 6.5m cargo space)
- Pickup Truck: Great for construction materials, yard waste (open bed)
- Passenger Van: For group transportation (up to 15 passengers)
- Review the estimated price and arrival time. The app will show you the total estimated cost including any applicable fees and taxes.
- Add any special instructions for the driver, such as specific loading/unloading needs, access codes, or other requirements.
- Tap "Request Ride" to confirm your booking.
Pro Tip
For larger moves or if you need assistance with loading/unloading, consider booking additional helper time. You can select this option before confirming your ride, and specify how many helpers you need and for how long.
During the Matching Process
- Wait for a driver to accept your ride request. This typically takes 1-5 minutes depending on driver availability in your area.
- Once matched, you'll see the driver's name, photo, vehicle details, and estimated arrival time.
- You can contact the driver through the app's messaging feature or call function if you need to communicate specific details.
Scheduling a Ride in Advance
If you need a ride at a specific time in the future, you can schedule it in advance:
- Follow the booking steps above, but before tapping "Request Ride", tap on the "Schedule" option.
- Select your desired date and time (you can schedule rides up to 7 days in advance).
- Complete the booking process as normal.
- You'll receive a confirmation, and reminders as your scheduled ride approaches.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a booking:
- Go to your "Active Rides" section in the app.
- Select the booking you wish to cancel.
- Tap "Cancel Ride" and confirm.
Please note: Cancellation fees may apply if a driver has already been assigned to your ride or if the driver is already en route. For scheduled rides, cancellations made less than 60 minutes before the pickup time may incur a fee.
After Your Ride
After your ride is completed:
- You'll receive a receipt via email and in the app.
- You'll be prompted to rate your driver and provide feedback on your experience.
- You can view your ride history and receipts in the "Trips" section of the app.
Common Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
For immediate needs, you can request a ride on-demand. For scheduled rides, we recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak times or for specialty vehicles.
Can I make multiple stops?
Yes, you can add up to 3 stops in a single ride. Tap "Add Stop" before confirming your booking to include additional locations. Additional charges may apply based on distance and time.
What if I need a larger vehicle than I originally booked?
If you realize you need a larger vehicle after booking, contact your driver immediately. If they cannot accommodate your needs, you can cancel the ride (cancellation fees may apply) and book a new ride with the appropriate vehicle size.
Is there a minimum rental time?
Yes, all rides have a minimum charge equivalent to 30 minutes of service time, which includes loading, transit, and unloading.
